Budget supermarket Aldi is adding new products to its affordable vegan range in Scotland in the form of a vegan breakfast pack, priced at £1.79, that includes veggie haggis, sausages and even square sausages!
The limited edition breakfast packs are made by Scottish butcher Simon Howie and are only available for sale in Aldi for a limited time. According to a Twitter post by the company, “when it’s gone it’s gone.”
Butcher Simon Howie is working hard to expand its plant-based range as demand for meat alternatives from consumers shows no signs of slowing down. The company is proud to offer plant-based options and states on its website: “While The Scottish Butcher may not be the first place you think of for delicious meat-free alternatives we are proud of our growing vegetarian range.
“We now boast the UK’s best-selling vegetarian haggis and the first widely available vegetarian square sausage! Now even more people can enjoy these Scottish classics!”
Aldi has also recently launched a vegan Easter egg complete with Ferrero Rocher-style hazelnut truffles as well as high-protein quarter pounder burgers which are made using all British ingredients. Earlier this year, the supermarket also capitalised on the growing demand for vegan products with the launch of an affordable vegan range filled with storecupboard essentials, ready meals and sweet treats.
