Traitors host Alan Cumming has stripped naked in an eye-catching vegan advert.

The acclaimed actor, who adopted a plant-based diet in 2012, is the face of PETA’s latest campaign.

With nothing but a piece of lettuce covering his manhood, Cumming can be seen sprawled across the bar in an East Village restaurant.

The photo is captioned with the words: “I’m the vegan option. Join me! ” and will be placed across New York’s iconic yellow cabs, starting from last week (July 27).

‘Just do it’

“If someone is questioning being vegan, I would say to them, ‘Don’t be ridiculous—just do it,” the star told PETA.

“It’s much, much easier than you think. We’re not living in the dark ages anymore. You can totally function.’”

In a behind-the-scenes video, Cumming adds: “My favourite vegan option, if I’m looking at a menu, I would probably go for the sides.. I’m kind of a sides man in those situations.”

PETA’s naked campaigns

Cumming isn’t the only celeb to take their kit off for the animals. Last year, Alicia Silverstone also stripped off for a PETA campaign.

The Clueless star posed wearing only a pair of vegan leather cowboy boots to promote cruelty-free fashion, for a billboard ad in New York’s Time Square.

“I never, ever, get naked in TV, in film, nothin’ … But I’ve done it for PETA ’cause that’s how much it matters to me,” the actor told PETA.

“The amount of resources, water, food, oil for transport, the amount of energy that goes into making leather is extraordinary. It’s just not sustainable. The Earth can’t handle it.”
