VegNorth is a celebration all things plant-based, where punters can enjoy delicious food, as  well as vegan beers and wines behind the bar.

Four weeks in and EatNorth has already taken the city by storm. From the team behind Leeds Indie Food (named ‘the North’s best food festival’ by Lonely Planet) EatNorth has been attracting punters on sun-soaked Saturdays to enjoy a rotating line-up of street food traders at North Brewing Co Taproom, all washed down North Bar’s award-winning beer. This Saturday 15th July, EatNorth will transform into a special veggie edition – VegNorth – which will feature five traders celebrating all things plant-based, as well as vegan beers and wines behind the bar.

VegNorth traders will include: Pizza Loco (wood-fired pizza), The Gravy Train Poutine (featuring vegan or vegetarian cheese and mushroom gravy), Wholesomejunkies (Kentucky-fried cauliflower), Leeds brunch heroes, Laynes Espresso and Nicely Kitchen (vegan bakes with no refined sugar). The beer list includes the recent award-winning Transmission as well as Volta and Pinata, which are all vegan friendly plus a very special vegan wine list has been brought in via Latitude Wines. Alongside the food and drink, there’ll be DJ’s, games, indoor and outdoor space and the fair is dog and child friendly.

Matt Dix (Festival Director, Leeds Indie Food) says:

“We’re really excited to be running our first vegetarian and vegan street food event at VegNorth. Running the festival over there last few years has demonstrated there’s a huge appetite for plant-based cooking, but it’s often something overlooked or left to one side at food markers and events. Whilst we make sure there are great veggie and vegan options every week at EatNorth, this special VegNorth edition allows us to really show off inspiring vegetarian and vegan cooking. We wanted to offer up the best comfort food around, stuff like pizzas, burgers, poutine, fried chicken, all the stuff that vegetarians don’t usually get a chance to grab. This time, we’ve got all that but there’s no meet. Pizzas with vegan cheese, KFC with cauliflower instead of chicken, awesome vegan cakes – it’s all our favourite food, but meat free.”
