Vegan kebabs, schnitzel, nuggets and smoked sausages have just launched in Tesco

A brand new range of vegan meat alternatives from plant-based German brand LikeMeat has just arrived at Tesco.

Tesco is ramping up its plant-based offerings in stores in a bid to boost profits following on from the success of its Wicked Kitchen range with a range of new plant-based products from Germand brand LikeMeat.

Launching in Tesco today (23rd September), are six enticing new products, which uses recycled plastic in its packaging, from the German brand – Like Nuggets, Smoked Sausages, Kebab, Schnitzel, ‘Chicken’ Bites and a Chicken’ Curry.

Perfect for adding to salads, sandwiches and even main meals, the Chicken Bites are made with high-quality soybeans and are rich in protein and fibre.

The Like Nuggets are great high-protein fast food alternative made from certified organic soya that also make for a perfect snack on-the-go. As an added bonus they’re also gluten-free!

The brands Schnitzel are made without flavour enhancers, preservatives or gluten to guarantee pure enjoyment and are delicious served alongside a side of veggies or even in a burger.

If you’re missing chicken curry then be sure to check out LikeMeat’s Chicken Curry. The pea-protein based Curry Fillet Pieces are flavoured with exotic spices and are tender and juicy making it easier to rustle up a tasty curry in minutes.

Amazing food

Founded in 2013 by Timo Recker, whose family background is in the meat industry, following the realisation that “plant-based protein was better for his personal health and for that of the planet”, LikeMeat aims to create realistic meat alternatives that don’t “mean sacrificing taste or texture.”

According to Recker:

“I wanted to recreate all the things that I love – chicken, kebabs, sausages – in a healthy way and without losing any flavour or satisfaction.

“And I wanted to make sure that you can stand next to your buddy at the BBQ and proudly throw on some pea sausages. For us, it’s not about creating a substitute. It’s about making amazing food.”
