A popular vegan lifestyle blogger, Romy London, will be cooking up a host of plant-based dishes on Channel 4’s cookery show Crazy Delicious next week.
Romy London is the only vegan contestant to feature in the six-part cookery show competition that sees three contestants “create dishes that are both a taste sensation and a feast for the eyes” each week.
The innovative and imaginative show features chefs Heston Blumenthal, Carla Hall and Niklas Ekstedt as judges and is set on the world’s first edible set akin to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory with edible blossom, chocolate soil, and a drinkable babbling brook. Contestants will even be able to pick ingredients straight from the set!
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal commented: “In Crazy Delicious we’re asking for dishes that not only taste great but are also visually spectacular, emotionally powerful and nostalgic so it’s incredibly tough!”
“Representing all vegans”
Romy London, the only vegan chef in the series said it was a “real privilege and I am very excited to be part of a cookery show like Crazy Delicious.”
“Cooking for Michelin star chefs is a chance you don’t get very often – especially when it’s vegan cuisine! I can’t wait for everyone to see the vegan dishes I created in the show – and also the stunning edible set!
“I kind of feel that I’m representing all vegans and I hope that I can prove that everything is possible in vegan cooking. I loved taking on the challenge of being the only vegan contestant on the show and competing with other creative chefs to win the Golden Apple”.
The episode will air on Tuesday 25th February at 8pm on Channel 4. It will also be broadcast on Netflix internationally (UK excluded) early this year.
