A vegan fast food takeaway service is now open in Nottingham serving up tempting ‘dirty vegan’ kebabs that prove vegan food is anything by bland and boring.
Late one Wednesday night, James Freeman and Joe Johnson were searching for a vegan only takeout and were seriously struggling! The next day, they set about finding a suitable alternative and decided to open their very own all-vegan takeaway – The Dirty Vegan to give vegans in Nottingham plenty of choice.
Hungry vegans can now order a chip-shop style vegan kebab to be delivered straight to their door via The Dirty Vegan’s home delivery service where they are currently taking orders for vegan kebabs through their Instagram and Facebook pages.
Speaking to Plant Based News about the decision to launch the takeaway service, Joe explained that he and co-owner James want to “change the perception from meat eaters that vegan food isn’t just bland and boring” by serving up a mouth-watering array of decadent vegan dishes.
Johnson explained the idea to open their own vegan eatery was inspired by their own struggles to find vegan junk food when the cravings hit: “I was over at James’ house one night, we were looking to order a takeaway (suitable for vegans) when we realized the options were so limited. Of course, there were certain options at takeouts but we realized literally nowhere just does vegan food.
“We want to give vegans an option where they can call a place, with confidence that everything on the menu is vegan.”
The Dirty Vegan team want to offer customers the best takeout food around, and so everything on the menu is handmade with ingredients sourced from sustainable sources.
The duo are now looking to trade at markets and festivals and are exploring the possibility of opening a permanent brick and mortar fast food vegan takeaway in Nottingham.
Orders must be submitted by Thursday evening at the latest in time for Friday deliveries, made between 7 pm and 9 pm. To order head to The Dirty Vegan Takeout on Facebook and Instagram.
