A brand new dedicated vegan grocery store is opening its doors in Leith this summer to give the areas thriving vegan population a convenient place to pick up all of their groceries in one store.
Local news outlet Edinburgh Live reports that owner Alasdair Corbett confirmed news of the store opening on Facebook and has been asking for help choose a name by voting for one of three options. So far ‘Easter Greens’ is the front runner.
He posted: “New 100 per cent vegan shop selling fruit, vegetables, vegan cheese, mock meats, tasty vegan snacks and all sorts of other amazing plant-based groceries.
“Opens August 2019 at 4 Easter Road, Edinburgh.”
Edinburgh is currently home to a vegan zero waste supermarket, The Eco Larder, that allows people to pick up plastic-free lifestyle goods and package-free dry food.
A number of dedicated vegan supermarkets have been popping up across the UK in recent years with the likes of GreenBay and Plant Based Supermarket in London and The Little Vegan Market in Middlesborough opening their doors to make shopping for vegan products simpler.
