A floating vegan pizzeria, The Country Punk Kin, is serving up takeaway pizzas from a canal boat in Bath.
You know veganism has come a long way when we now have fantastic eateries like a travelling vegan pizza boat The Country Punk Kin, serving up delicious plant-based dishes.
The floating pizzeria opened in June and is currently operating on a canal boat in the Darlington Wharf Bath Canal, serving takeaway pizzas on regular stops on its route between Devizes and Bristol to those who stop by.
Through regular updates to their Instagram and Facebook accounts, the team behind the boat keeps their followers informed of their current location and opening hours. Two friendly mascots, golden retrievers Bill and Ben, often feature in these posts as even more incentive to come along and say hello.
All of the ingredients used in The Country Punk Kin’s pizzas are prepared with care. The sourdough for the pizza bases is left to prove for seventy-two hours, which (as they told Vegan Bristol) gives their pizza ‘real depth of flavour’. Their homemade vegan pepperoni features on their ‘meat cheat’ and ‘un-pepperoni’ pizzas, and they aim to make all of their other toppings fresh, seasonal and locally sourced.
Once you know its location, the boat can be easily spotted; strewn with colourful flags and flowers and announced by blackboards, you can’t miss it on a walk along the Kennet and Avon canal.
