Lancashire baker Holland’s Pies, which started life as a baker’s shop in Lancashire in 1851, has just launched its first-ever vegan products in its 169-year history.
Launching in Morrisons stores across the North West today, the Vegan Roll (£1.25), mimics the classic sausage roll in appearance but is instead filled with a soya protein, all encased in mouth-watering pastry and seasoned with a mix of fragrant herbs.
According to the company, the new “addition to the savoury pastry market is not only great for vegans, but for those looking to cut down on their meat consumption and in search for a tasty snack on the go.”
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Leanne Holcroft, Brand Manager at Holland’s Pies said: “We are incredibly excited to launch our first ever vegan product in Morrisons after receiving lots of feedback from fans following the launch of our extended vegetarian range in 2019.
“With over 400,000 people signing up to take part in Veganuary this year to reduce their meat-consumption and sample the vegan lifestyle**, we wanted to give our fans old and new a snack they’ll really enjoy.”
