Ginsters, the biggest selling pasty maker in the UK, is relaunching its award-winning Moroccan Vegetable Pasty with a brand new vegan recipe, created in collaboration with Cornish Michelin star chef, Chris Eden.

The vegan-friendly pasty (RRP£1.60) will be relaunching in stores nationwide and will replace its vegetarian pasty predecessor as demand from consumers increasingly sways towards plant-based products.

The vegan pasty marks the first time to Cornwall-based company, who makes its pasties in east Cornwall from top quality ingredients, has offered a vegan-friendly pasty as part of its range.

Incredible flavour

Commenting on Ginsters first-ever vegan pasty in a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Managing Director Kieran Hemsworth said: “We were delighted by the popularity of our Moroccan Vegetable Pasty, which won a Gold Award at this year’s British Pie Awards. We’re really excited to be able to update our recipe into a vegan-friendly edition, whilst maintaining that incredible flavour. Within our range of products, we aim to provide options to suit everyone’s taste preferences.

“Our Moroccan Vegetable Pasty is filled with butternut squash, chickpeas and roasted red piquanté peppers, brought to life by a hint of harissa and sweetness of apricots and dates. The appetising spiciness is thanks to Moroccan chermoula paste, based on aromatic cumin, paprika and cayenne.

“This a pasty for any time, any place. Great for lunch and on-the-go, but also delicious hot from the oven for a quick, tasty dinner. I like to accompany it with fruity couscous or spiced cauliflower – side dishes developed by our collaborating chef, Chris Eden. It’s all about fresh flavour and convenience.”

Ginsters vegan pasty will be available to purchase from 20th May 2019 nationwide from Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.
