Clea is a writer, marketer and activist who has been vegan since 2014, and vegetarian since she was 12.
She is passionate about inspiring others to go vegan, and believes that good food, empathy and kindness are the best forms of activism. Clea previously worked at Veganuary, and has also written for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Yorkshire Life, Cheshire Life and RotaCloud.
Clea explains why she’s so passionate about spreading the vegan message: “Being vegan is as normal and natural to me as anything I’ve ever known. Nowadays, I hardly think about the vegan choices I make, it’s so a part of who I am – and I feel incredibly grateful for that.
“I know it’s possible to live a happy, healthy life while causing as little harm as possible, and I want to inspire others to do the same.
“I’ve been vegetarian for over 30 years and vegan for almost 10, so I think I am a pretty good example of a life lived well without animal products.
“I’ve run marathons, travelled, and worked across many sectors as a vegan, so I don’t see it as a barrier to enjoyment, experience or socialising – if anything, I’ve probably experienced and enjoyed far more in this last decade than ever before!
“Veganism has broadened my horizons, not closed them down. And I hope I can communicate that through my writing and inspire others to give a vegan lifestyle a try. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done and the thing I like most about myself.”
